Diagno Energy at Smart Energy Conference and Exhibition 2026

Diagno Energy recently attended the Smart Energy Conference and Exhibition Sydney 2026, one of Australia’s leading renewable energy industry events. The conference created opportunities for new conversations, partnerships, and discussions around smarter solar operations and energy asset management.

On the 6th and 7th of May 2026, the Diagno Energy team attended Smart Energy Conference & Exhibition at ICC Sydney, one of Australia’s biggest renewable energy events.

Across the conference floor, one thing became clear: renewable portfolios are growing fast, but managing them efficiently is becoming more complex than ever.

That’s exactly the challenge Diagno is built to solve.

Smart Energy Conference Sydney 2026

The event brought together solar, battery storage, EV charging, and energy technology leaders from across Australia.

  • Smarter solar operations: More proactive and intelligent management of renewable energy systems.
  • Better portfolio visibility: A clearer, centralised view across sites, assets, and devices.
  • Faster diagnostics: Detecting and resolving issues before they escalate.
  • Data-driven asset management: Using performance insights to improve operational decisions.
  • Scaling renewable infrastructure efficiently: Managing growing portfolios with less operational complexity.

Diagno Energy also had the opportunity to exhibit within the conference’s start-up and innovation space, where we spent the day connecting directly with attendees across the renewable energy industry. The booth created a valuable environment for conversations with asset owners, operators, councils, installers, and industry stakeholders navigating many of the operational challenges Diagno is designed to solve.

Throughout the conference, the Diagno team also showcased several of the platform’s latest feature developments designed to improve renewable asset visibility, diagnostics, and operational efficiency across growing portfolios.

Attendees were introduced to new capabilities including:

  • Site Groups for managing assets across multiple locations
  • Custom Reporting for clearer portfolio insights
  • Users & Permissions for improved access control
  • Fault Triage to support faster issue prioritisation
  • Portfolio Map Functionality for easier asset visualisation
  • Asset Timelines for tracking system history and operational events

These demonstrations helped highlight how Diagno is building a smarter operational intelligence layer for renewable energy asset management.

The conversations among attendees reinforced the increasing demand for tools that move beyond basic monitoring and instead provide:

  • Clear operational prioritisation
  • Portfolio-wide intelligence
  • Simplified reporting
  • Better collaboration across teams and stakeholders

It was incredibly valuable to hear directly from the people managing renewable assets every day and to better understand the operational priorities shaping the next stage of the industry’s growth.

Earl’s Pitch at the Pitch Fest

Diagno CTO & Co-Founder Earl Duran delivered a pitch on one of the biggest blind spots in the renewable energy transition: operational after-care. As solar, battery, and EV adoption accelerates, many systems are still treated as “set and forget” infrastructure, creating major visibility gaps once assets are deployed. During the presentation, Earl shared findings from Diagno’s analysis across more than 5,200 Australian renewable energy assets:

  • 49% showed some form of underperformance
  • 24.3% had serious performance or safety issues

Many of these faults remain invisible to asset owners while quietly reducing performance, increasing operational risk, and impacting long-term returns.

The pitch positioned Diagno as the missing intelligence layer sitting above renewable energy assets, combining ML-powered diagnostics, benchmarking, safety oversight, and automated workflows to help operators quickly understand:

  • What is the issue?
  • How serious is it?
  • What needs to happen next?

“The challenge in the energy transition is no longer just deployment. It’s making sure these systems actually perform safely, reliably, and profitably over time.”

Earl Duran, CTO & Co-Founder, Diagno Energy

Looking Ahead

Smart Energy Conference 2026 reinforced the growing industry shift toward smarter, more proactive renewable asset management.

As renewable portfolios continue expanding, operational intelligence, diagnostics, and scalable oversight are becoming increasingly important for improving performance, reducing risk, and supporting long-term asset reliability.

A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by the booth, attended the pitch, or connected with the Diagno team throughout the event.
